jrhana.... you know, of course (Ahem!) that the DC-area Realtors are solely responsible for everything that happens here vis-a-vis housing prices and demand, and it is the Realtors who have made this city what it is today.

Hopefully, ralph can shed some light on why the Realtors in Vancouver, who reportedly created his local housing bubble and have "lured" poor young victims into buying homes, can't seem to keep the party going. <<gg>>

The thing that kept me from living in DC is the 10% income tax, it was only 5% in Virginia.

But in terms of quality of life it is appealing.

<<homogenous people >>

You obviously don't know much about Vancouver. It's very diverse.

<<Vancouver is great if you enjoy a steady drizzle and boring homogenous people>>

Yesterday the homogenous people had a HUGE Pride parade through the streets of Vancouver that attracted 100,000 people. This after the huge fireworks display in English Bay considered to be the very best in the world, attraced 300,000 people!!!!!!!

Vancouver Mayor Larry Campbell was just one of the dignitaries who marched in the annual parade.

Over 100,000 spectators lined the sidewalks of the West End for the annual Pride Parade.

Colourful floats featuring nearly-naked dancers, drag queens and various GLBT advocacy groups packed Denman and Pacific Streets.

Several high profile politicians marched in the parade, including Vancouver Mayor Larry Campbell, Federal NDP leader Jack Layton and B.C. NDP leader Carole James.

The parade has grown to become one of Vancouver's largest festivals.

In addition to Sunday's Pride Parade, Commercial Drive hosted the first annual "Dyke March."

Hundreds of people took part in the all-inclusive, female and family friendly event.

The march began in Victoria Park and wrapped up with a free concert in Grandview Park."
