Perhaps that is because you lack access to the pertinent information. Perhaps that is because your are permitting an admirable cynicism to get between you and the truth. We are obligated to be cynical when politicians and others deliberately attempt to confuse the facts in order to achieve an undesirable end. However, we are also obligated to give the benefit of the doubt to those to whom we have entrusted the powers of the office they hold in our democratic society. The Liberals and their allied media have long ago ceased giving Bush the benefit of the doubt, largely because he won in 2000 and they lost. And they won't give him that benefit in 2004 because they desperately want him to be defeated in his so-far successful campaign to be reelected. So, you think that you can accuse him today of mere politics for political gain while using the "fear" of some kind of imminent attack. And since 9/11, the Liberals and their supporting media have attempted to prove that Bush "should have known in advance and should have acted in advance." That he failed according to the Democrats proves him to be incompetent and derelict on duty. Kerry's entire campaign thus far has hinged on this now discredited thesis. Kerry and the Democrat are attempting to convince the country that Bush should have known that 9/11 was coming before 9/11 came They believe expect us to swallow their garbage that Bush didn't know, he should have known, and he should have acted in advance to prevent 9/11. He was behind the curve then. Now, they say, Bush attempts to convince the country that he has information about terrorists and their desires to attack New York, NJ and DE. Bush acts preemptively on the basis of what he knows. But Kerry and the Dems now accuse him of manipulating events merely to gain the political advantage. The say today that Bush's action over the weekend regarding terror is based on not on valid and available information but that Bush is attempting to fool the American public for political gain. According to Kerry and the Democrats, Bush failed before 9/11 because he did nothing. Now, according to them, Bush is failing because he is distorting "whatever he may or may not know" for political gain. So what is it? Could it be that Kerry and the Democrats are still trying to learn the shape and the significance of a new world order that no longer conforms to their pretentions? So what does Kerry do? He reverses Howard Dean's thesis. Kerry now tries to out-Commander-in-Chief Bush. He tries to capture the Heroic Leader mantle in order to rescue his party from their past failures when it comes to national defense. Question:Just when will the Liberals cease their counter-attack on Bush's correct and entirely defensible positions? Answer: When Bush and the Republicans soundly defeat them in November. But Bush's reelection will not cause them to remain quiet. Not at all. They will continue to scream. They will scream because the country and the world is no longer in their control and they cannot adjust to the new prevailing conditions that are slated to be with us for some time to come
