Brian, re: This benefits everyone, and solves the current SS problems. The only problem I have is that you still need a safety net. In this society we don't want people running out of money at 90 when they might live to be 95. Make FICA 10%, put 5% into the current SS "trust", and 5% into self managed accounts. Limit or eliminate the SS for the very wealthy. What if somebody really needs the money from the self managed account? For surgery, or another dire emergency? Just thinking out loud... John
