Like I said, I take debka with a ton of NaCl, especially when it predicts things. Here, though, I think it is probably right even though I have some problems with its notion that the fact that AQ doesn't communicate by email or computers anymore necessarily means that the information concerning the surveillance of financial institutions which has been collected is not legit.

Debka may have erred here since we are not talking about communications but about the compilation of surveillance data, for which computers are ideal. It is reasonable to believe that AQ uses computers for filing this kind of stuff away even if it does not any longer use email or computers to communicate among its members.

This is very difficult for a cynical layman to understand, but it's a fun game.

They seem to be good on internal Israeli affairs. More of a "rumor mill" outside Israel. But always interesting.

debka is a leak sink for right-wing Israeli military intelligence and political officials. Their analyses and predictions are written up rapidly & breathlessly, and should be taken with a large helping of salt. However, when they report "X just happened" and X happened in Israel/Pal, they are generally correct. Even in Iraq, they are right more often then not. The whole surreptitious Scud-hunting war-before-the-war in 2002, which our media is only now noticing that it even happened, I learned of at the time from debka.
