Gardner is exposed in the Time Magazine article as a dittohead Limbaugh fan who offered himself to Rush to help the cause. But the real dirt on Gardner is that back on the Mekong he was the one who machine-gunned two innocent civilians while Kerry was yelling "cease fire!". Kerry wanted him court martialed. Gardner has hated Kerry ever since, even though it was Grdner not Kerry who was dead (literally) wrong while in combat. 13 out of the 14 surviving crew members fully support Kerry. Gardner for personal and political reasons does not.
