In ten words of less tell me why you hate the word Liberal... It comes from the Greek "Libre," meaning "pertaining to free." It still has that meaning in Europe. It was hijacked by the socialists in America and means "collectivist" here. That the best solution to our problems is found in the State. That you should sacrifice the individual for the good of the group. The collapse of the Soviet Empire ended socialism. The types that used to be proud to be called "liberals" now want to be known as "progressives." They are still looking for a way to sell state control. They know that "Liberal" is now a "dirty word" with the American public.
