If memory serves, JW's "end the political mumbojumbo talk" came at a time when it seemed like the dialogue was getting long-winded, polarized and personal. I think Russ made a comment around that time as well. Hopefully we can share diverse views on this thread while keeping things in perspective and not getting too carried away with it all. Although I certainly am interested in politics, I come to this thread mostly for the economic content, and it is only right for that to be the majority of the discourse here. I realize it sometimes is hard to separate the two, but I think if we all just try for a reasonable balance, it will work out well.

That's my two cents worth, back to lurrking...

my comments were quite a while ago
the thread had become a waste of time
this is a principal thread for me
it had degraded badly in late June, early July
sorry if the comment was directed at you
it could have been directed at any number of guys

as for Hitler and Bush, take your over the top and try to recall some key events in Weimar Germany

I can cite about 20 parallels
can you cite even two ???

do you believe that economic hardship (also back in 1920's) can contribute to conditions which lead to a gradual erosion of political framework ???

do you believe magnificent monetary inflation can lead to eventual asset price stall and decline ???

I am keenly aware of early process changes
they are almost always dismissed, denied, and mocked
back in spring 2002 I was mocked for my views regarding a sharply falling USDollar, a sharply rising gold price, and a continued trade gap
they all happened

I was mocked for my expectation of terrorism hitting the Saudi soil
it happened

I was mocked for my view that Iraqi oil production would have a very difficult time EVER surpassing pre-war levels
it is happening

I have studied the origins of Nazi Germany
most neocons have no idea of similarities
leave it at that
sorry for climbing up your ass
no biggy

as for my mood during the day, recently tough
some serious swings up & down
I sure hope it levels off in a few weeks or months
not likely
