They (Kerry and Dems) need to attract the segment that's very dumbfounded, mesmerized, confused and tired of ineptitude. Cannot follow Byrd's lines which will confuse the public even more, and lose the voters who are looking for someone with alternative solution. For the majority of the masses, it's difficult enough to decide who can provide strong and stable leadership. To have to swallow another story is just too dificult. The best Kerry could do is to keep the investigation intact and to continue.
