I have read studies that show that the best way to avoid vote fraud is those paper ballots, which should be put into a clear plastic box that can't be opened by the people at the polling place. The number of votes can be compared to the number of registered voters who showed up and provided identification at the polling place. The votes are unambiguous, the pieces of paper are available for recounts.

There does not appear to be any good way to prevent fraud when you vote, but this way is least bad.
