I'm getting the distinct impression from all the internet chatter that people outside New York and DC are far more agitated about these terrorist warnings than the people who live there.

Also, in my opinion, the political slant put onto the whole thing is abominable. Saw Democratic Sen. Leiberman quoted the other day in the Wash Post saying anyone who thinks this thing is politically motivated is wrong. It would probably be hard to find many other Democratic leaders on the Hill who disagree with him. They were all briefed about this latest warning and probably know much more than the public does about the seriousness of it all.

Considering the costs of increased security being borne by federal/state/local governments and individual companies, it's a big stretch to believe that the whole thing is politically motivated or a figment of Homeland Security imagination.
