Your thoughts and musings concerning megatrends are persuasive. Even a fuddy duddy like me could buy into a lot of it.

Then comes your thoughts on day to day stuff (I don't see how it could come from the same person).

Fist wrt to acupuncture: There is enough evidence to show that when it works, it works like a miracle. Perhaps, unlike aspirin where it works on 95% of the population that uses it, acupuncture works on a much smaller percentage. But, for those that it works for, what do they care whether or not people can undersatnd in "scientific terms" how it works.

Similarly, for aspirin - there is no "scientific explanation" as to how it works in most instances. At least for those that it works for, who cares that we do not currently have a "scientifc explanation".

Similarly, for religion. For a lot of people who are not "brilliant enough" to come up with their own explanation as to the meaning of life and how to live it, some of the major religions of the world do that for them.

But, like anything else in the open market place, when there is something better that comes along, most people will be just as smart as you are and be able to recognise it.
