If you can get hot IPOs, we can't lose on that part of our money. Alas, you can't get them unless you have $100 million under mgt., at which point they don't make you enough to offset your other holdings. The trick at mutual fund cos. is that they had their large crap growth funds and balanced funds and asset allocation funds making up the critical mass of commissions to draw in the IPOs. Then, they gave them all to the small, new fund, where they did matter. At first.
