Going to war does not make one a hero in my opinion.

If you lay hero status on everyone who goes to war, you cheapen it for the true heroes.

Kerry spent 4 months in Nam, and we've been discussing the possibility he gunned down someone running away.

From my previous post, he claims atrocities committed, which does make him a criminal for not reporting them as they happened.
