Hi Karen,
The answer is obvious given what we know about kerry. But, i still have trouble with this iraq thing that i now see as a diversion from the war on terror based on a desire for an easy win in the arab world to show them that resistance is futile and that they will be assimilated. What it showed after an easy victory is that resistance is far from futile and once again that when america is faced with real casualties and the real possiblity of alot of a collateral damage in fighting guerillas, we are unable to follow through. Thats why i started thinking about pulling out yesterday because the enemy does not believe we are serious even if we stay. So whats the difference.
Add to this the inablilty of the bush admin to admit an error or fire anyone responsible for the mess we are now in is something else i do not like. I will probably vote for bush but sorry to say i will be holding my nose. I would like a symbolic gesture at this point from this admin, fessing up to mistakes made along the way, and/or replacing a key cabinet figure prior to the election, and/or replacing cheney who has become the Prince of Darkness for the GOP. I am tired of hearing about the base. I am part of that base also. I believe in reagonomics. I have some libetarian strains. The base isnt only the christian right and the military rightists who are obscessed with kerrys service in vietnam which i think is irrlevent. Off the soapbox now, i will take any one of the above suggestions as a sign that bush is listening and if he took any of the above suggestions he would improve his standing in the polls asap. mike
