I am glad these slimy attacks are happening now so far in advance of elections. These type of attacks are effective when they are made close to election time with little time to refute by the people who were attacked. I hope there is long enough time to create a backlash against slimy liars who made out people like McCain and Cleland as anything but war heroes.

For Cleland, his opponent ran ads questioning Cleland's patriotism and showed him morphing into bin Laden. That ad, like this attack on John Kerry, is beneath all American's contempt. Cleland's opponent was Saxby Chambliss and no surprise, Chambliss avoided the Vietnam war. His excuse was "bad knees", even though one of his preferred activities was jogging... That said, I also blame the American people for electing a chickenhawk like Chambliss versus a man like Cleland who lost three-fourths of his body in Vietnam. That is also why I sometimes feel it is poetic justice if Dumbya wins the coming elections and all these idiots who voted for him will see their sons drafted into the military and made to fight in endless wars in the Middle East.
