Four ANG fighter squadrons were sent to South Vietnam in 1968. Including an Air Force fighter squadron that was predominantly manned by Air Guardsmen; they flew approximately 30,000 sorties and 50,000 combat hours. Two ANG fighter units were sent to South Korea to help stabilize the situation there. Elements of mobilized ANG reconnaissance units performed missions in the Far East on TDY status.
