SWiftVets are liars and they know it. That "50 yards away comment" was BS too. Maybe once or twice a few of them were 50 yards away in a boat but basically only Steve Gardner served with Kerry and not a single one of the others did except being in the same general theater of war. Gardner hates Kerry because Kerry wanted him court martialed after Gardner machinegunned two civilians as Kerry was yelling "cease fire!" If the GOp wants a lying murderer fronting for them, that's fine. But all the other Kerry crewmen know Gardner is not just wrong but has serious mental problems. O'Neill in charge of SWiftVets is also discredited by being a long-time political operative for the far right, starting with his work with Tricky Dick's Charles Colson who ended up in prison for his political crimes.
