"If bin laden were captured and in American hands what would be the reaction from the world of islam?"

Chaos.
We need UBL and Ayman al-Zawahri D.O.A.

I wonder, too. If he is captured or killed will we have created a martyr for terrorists to rally around? Perhaps.

Osama may be a martyr, or he may not. On the other hand, would NOT going after Osama be construed as a sign of weakness in the Muslim world - which values "honor" above all else?

Osama is directly responsible for the murder of nearly 3,000 people. He is not, like Saddam, a potential threat - Osama IS a threat. I think we have to go after him and let the chips fall where they fall.

You said....." At this point Osama is a charismatic leader who can rally hundreds to his cause. If he were out of the picture, the propaganda machine would slow down."....

That's a really good point. I wonder, I really wonder if that is what would occur or would the fanatical part of islam be so enraged that islam terrorists attacks would increase. If bin laden were captured and in American hands what would be the reaction from the world of islam?
