Early in Kerry's Senate career (1986 - 1987) he became known for the "Kerry committee" that initially uncovered the Iran-Contra scandal: webcom.com Lately, the Kerry-Frist bill was an excellent piece of bi-partisan legislation. In 2002 Kerry Authored the HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Assistance Legislation. John Kerry wrote the Aids Assistance legislation to help establish a comprehensive, integrated, five year strategy to combat the global spread of HIV and AIDS. It also significantly increases the funding for HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria prevention and treatment programs. 'The Kerry-Frist bill is a huge step forward," said Senator Frist. "It further validates U.S. leadership in the global effort to end devastation many countries face in the fight against HIV/AIDS'." (Office of Senator Bill Frist, press release 7/12/02) Kerry has a long (20 years) and distinguished career in the Senate. He is mostly known for his investigations, his bipartisan work on Vietnam, his work on fiscal responsibility, free trade, health care, etc. I'm not sure why Kerry doesn't feature more of his Senate career.

Mentioning Vietnam is not the same as boasting about one's military exploits. Other people may boast, but not Kerry. However, Bush falsely boasted about landing the plane on the air craft carrier, that he was a jet jockey and had mission accomplished. None of it was true. In 1976, an eyewitness saw GW unable to fly a simple Cessna. Some "jet jockey". GW never tried to fly again after 1976. Kerry is a aerobatics expert and chopper pilot. He does it for fun. Again, he never boasts about it.
