"What reason has Kerry given for not releasing the record"

None that I know of. Now I can understand, releasing personal medical records is a dicey precedent to set. In that, I can understand Dubya's reluctance even if there isn't anything in there but teeth cleanings and such. But this hasn't been a particularly civil campaign, and there isn't any reason to suspect that it is going to get any better. In 2000, Gore was reluctant to go for the throat, but Bush wasn't. If you have an opponent who is willing to escalate things until you give in, you either give in early and save yourself the grief, or you do the same. It's not nice. It's not pretty. But it is the way it is. I just hope they don't start dragging each others kids into it...

Let me tell you......the GOP counts on the Dems not going for the jugular. That's how Gore lost the election; he backed off instead of fighting them.

You don't let crooks get a inch or they will take a mile. I hope Kerry dishes out as good as he gets.......like he did today with the ridiculous attack on his war record.
