"many other Americans, are tired of those who bite the generous hand"

Maybe ... ought to examine the so called Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) which most Canadians believe works against them in almost every instance. NAFTA seems to be another program to deceive and steal from other countries like Canada and Mexico.

So where is this generous hand? Please expand on that as I'd be interested in hearing how we are a bunch of ingrates because we don't see some things the way you do.

BTW I hate to burst your "bubble" but I am an American living in Canada. I am a dual citizen. I moved here in the '70s and haven't looked back. I've been here 35 years and certainly am qualified to speak as a Canadian and a representative one at that although I do live on the Left Coast.

I grew up in 90212 and most of my friends are people you see nightly on TV. I spent my youth organizing anti-war demonstrations in the '60s and many of my friends were writers (ie. All in the Family) during a highly politically charged era and so I think I am more than qualified to express my opinions of "It's only because of America's greatness" but this thread is for real estate topics and I am waiting for it to return to that subject.

Can someone tell me when this will return to the subject of "Residential Real Estate Crash" and when the politics and vitriol will simmer down?

So please let me know when the personal attacks will cease and those calling me a "Sasquatch" will say something about that chimpanzee in the Whi....oh never mind.

"My reaction reflects my concern our country has gotten too complacent, especially when I look at our govt's policies and approach in handling international business affairs. Or how we as a country aren't demanding to make our average schools as competitive as the best in Asian countries, which we need to do, due to the student volume disparity. Even our best schools fall behind some of the best Asian schools in mathematics, for sure."

Here's a suggestion made recently by Jimmy Rogers and I think Marc Faber as well: Learn Mandarin (not Cantonese) if you're young and want to be competitive because the American century is all but over and the Asian one will supplant it. If you want to see the future of N. America then come to Vancouver as it is the back door to Asia more than any city on the west coast.

Lastly, to those who would censor me and then speak of the right to speak ones mind in your country please consider this statement which I think is absolutely fair:

"If we shut our ears to how we can be better, we've closed off one channel to be more competitive. The major ingredient to competitiveness is to foster dialogue and polite criticism or self-criticism. (Though can definitely understand you were simply trying to reduce the impoliteness.)"

I posit that rudeness is a value judgement and that your airwaves are full of crude, but educated, talk show celebrities, journalists, political commentators, Matt Drudges, Rush Limbaughs and Bill O'Reillys and other fanatics of whatever persuasion so what did I say here that makes me deserving of the guillotine? Maybe I'm a trailer park boy in the opinion of some here but does this mean I have nothing worthwhile to say?
