Well, it is difficult to make the case that something like this should have been given consideration in a political contest. It simply had no relevance whatsoever and should never have been introduced by the Gore people.

It really was just like the James Byrd ad.

Surely, you aren't trying to suggest Bush's DWI arrest from 30 years prior, when he had already admitted publicly to having had a drinking problem which he obviously had recovered from, should have been part of the political debate? Of course you aren't; that would be silly.
