Since Feb/March I've been waiting to buy Nasdaq ~1850 and later modified it to too risky as I considered it likely that a break of 1850 will drop us towards 1780 or even 1680. I find this scenario more and more likely everyday. In terms of SOX, at around 350 it is a good buy, IMO. Regardless of the number, I plan to be a buyer of SOX in about 6-9 months (probably sooner rather than later).

I think most of the job growth has been due to Iraq. This is to say that (a) it has been a source of jobs for some people, and (b) as the time spent by the reservees increased beyond the expectations, new hiring took their place. However as this effect has stabilized, so has the job growth. Now if somehow the number of troops increases say by another 50000, you can expect more pundits talk about the improving economy without referring to the war as a "make jobs" project by another name.
