helmets just let you have an open casket wake -g- seriously, those salad bowls most harley riders wear aren't going to help much, what good is the top of your head if you're missing your chin?

helmets?
thank you Mommy...what about clean underwear, or more to the point, how about full racing leathers to prevent road rash, or joint protectors to limit orthopaedic injuries, or bite sticks to prevent dental injuries...

Bottom line, require private insurance as a prerequisite for licensure...THEN GET THE H*&^& OUT OF OUR PRIVATE MOTORCYCLE RIDIN' LIVES!

My understanding is that every single person who rides a motorcycle is injured in an accident. I never rode anything but a bicycle, but I was injured enough times doing that to realize what would happen at higher speeds.

in Austin every year many thousands of unhelmeted Harley riders descend upon the city. it seems to be the rare rider who even bothers to wear one of those half helmets. but if you are 17 and want to ride a bicycle, you are required by law to wear a helmet. go figure.
