I believe way too much money has been just thrown at the states for Homeland Security, with, it seems, no oversight. What else is new with our government?

I want to see a SHIT load of money spent on intelligence.
I want to see profiling.
I want to see any person of Middle East persuasion here illegally, deported.
Racist? Hell no. Any other nationality trying to kill us?

Re: the dirty bomb thing... I used to work for a DOE radiological cleanup program, so I know first-hand how panicked people can get when they hear that there's (gasp) RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINATION in their area. The levels we were dealing with were minuscule, and they would have to have been ingested to do any damage, but people got seriously freaked out when they heard that their property might have trace amounts of thorium, etc. on it.

As such, I can easily see how the detonation of a radioactive "dirty bomb" could throw a city into a total panic -- even if it was just a tiny amount of radiological material that was involved.
