Mike, The Viet Nam war was a debacle, and American troops should never have been asked to lose, and risk, their lives for that cess pool of a country. However, every veteran that returned after honorable service, should have been received as a hero, instead of getting spit upon by those scruffy pinheads, and every other American should have come to their defense. I can understand that a lot of them are pissed off. They were not allowed to fire on the enemy until they had received clearance from HQ to return fire. That war was controlled by politicians, instead of the military leaders, which will screw one up every time.

As for who started the whole thing, Ike sent some advisors there, but the real escalation is in JFK's, and LBJ's lap, and every democrat should remember that.

Those 8 million veterans, definitely, have the right of a voice in this campaign, because a man, who will be proven a coward, liar, and opportunist, is trying to use Nam as the main platform of his run at the Presidency.

Bush has is warts, and freckles, but is a better choice to lead this nation.
