Not when clearly criminal conduct is involved.....the business of war is inherently deadly....humans are prone to mistakes when under stress and mistakes in a war zone get people killed.....but there is a difference between a battlefield error in judgment and what kerry alleged....

Well, in my day there certainly was some LIP SERVICE to that idea, but today, with reporters all over the place I'd say its impossible. Probably not a good thing cause as Sherman said long ago, WAR IS HELL. There will always be extreme violence cause thats the nature of the beast, some will look at it in horror and call it something it wasnt really intended to be. For instance, take all this arguement about FREE FIRE ZONES in Nam. There was a reason for this. The VC and NVA moved their supplies at night. We had curfews. Anything that MOVED at night was presumed to be the enemy. jdn
