The Depresive side of you is in the ascendancy, Michael. It causes you to behave in a manic way.

But goodby gadfly. But don't let the better part of you stay gone for long.

michael....we are all here to learn something, sometimes even if we don't really want to. You've got lots and lots of questions, but don't want to consider another opinion on a possible answer. None of us here have all the answers, that's for sure. We can only do what all citizens could, and should be, doing...and that is gathering info, and eventually making some judgements.

Give you a for instance...in several protests by the DNC...I see this was said....

The Kerry campaign has denounced the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, saying none of the men in the ad served on the boat that Kerry commanded.

BUT, when you really look at the remarks by the people involved, you see something else again....

The leader of the group, retired Adm. Roy Hoffmann, said none of the 13 veterans in the commercial served on Kerry's boat but rather were in other swiftboats within 50 yards of Kerry's.

We have to be aware of things, because the media would not let us know these little 'differences'......

Response to a private message from a poster on this thread, who said:
>>i think the anti kerry swift boaters are doing exactly the same thing and hurting the reelection effort. Kerry running as vn lieut kerry would do himself in if it werent for all this help he is getting imo. Many dems and libs think swift boaters are a product of Rove. We have enough problems with bad jobs report, $45 oil, lousy iraq situation not getting better. Bush needs to be humble, honest and be willing to fire if nec and maybe replace a veep who either gets sick or resigns because of the halliburton findings when he was ceo even though he was not named. I like cheney but he has become darth vader. Last election he gave bush the experience he needed, now he's an albatross.<<

My response:
Private messaging is non-productive. If it can't be said in public, why say it at all?

I agree that Bush would get reelected in a heartbeat (no pun intended) if VP Cheney would resign; however, I disagree that the swiftboaters are not sincere in their protest of Kerry's candidacy.

Moderates are struggling with this election because the two candidates come from opposing extremes of American politics. Our choices are to go with the man protecting the interests of capitalists who are busily outsourcing American jobs OR the guy who represents the "blame America first" and grovel at the UN's feet crowd. American workers are screwed either way, but at least Pres Bush will aggressively eliminate global terrorism. Hopefully that goal will be accomplished by 2008 and voters can then focus on domestic issues at long last.
