When I read your first message to EVERYONE: I modified my use of language and have not used any profane or vulgar or obscene language. I observed an individual making clear personal attacks on a public figure. Personal attacks on any person based on no reality are acts that are profane or vulgar or obscene. In my opinion only a thoroughly contemptible, detestable person. posts in such a manner. I cannot read your mind. So define your rules clearly with examples and stop flailing your hands about saying nothing. You can do a screw you with no explanation. That's up to you and it will not fix anything. If you wish to fix things, then take some time and clearly define the meaning of your rules with some context. I simply post to those who post here exactly the level of civility they post. If they post stupidly, I inform them. If they post personal attacks on other members of SI or individuals with clear dishonesty of some form of bigotry I simply post with honesty an evaluation of the profane or vulgar or obscene they have posted. The nature of my observations are they are ignorant of stupid or hatful or dishonest. And for repeat repeat repeat posters I also inform them of how their posts reveal them to be "A thoroughly contemptible, detestable person." I have never used any racial, religous, sexual orientation or ethic attack. I have seen the word ass·hole used often in the history of this thread. I have not seen anything in terms of a consistant response that indicates any vulgar or obscene word is a clear violation of the TOU. I have been personally attacked hundreds if not thousands of times and only very select few sometimes were viewed as a violation of the TOU.
