Hmmm, I guess you did.

What I said was that at the end of the first dip in the bear market, BEARX had the best three-year record: up 125% at that point, as reported in Barron's.

What that means is that it does what it is supposed to do, which is to rise as the market declines and as the gold market rises.

It makes as much sense to criticize a lifeboat as a useless piece of equipment as to criticize BEARX for not going up when the markets have been rising, as they did all through 2003 and on into this year.

If you want to see a really down chart, look at RYVNX, which I have moved heavily into this year.

It really is preposterous to criticize something for being what it claims to be. I guess there are people who say, "I never get anything out of my fire insurance! What a waste of money!"
