It looks like real combat. But it ain't even close. None of the combatants carry or shoot a weapon. They are all heavily guarded and protected 24/7. None need a job or money. Everyday, Kerry waves a fist at Americans, attacks GWB and vows to fight. At least GWB has informed us that we are going to fight against those who have been killing us. The Vietnam issue is an outrage. But what really made it outrageous is Kerry's continued use of Nam as a stepping stone for his own power grabs. Why not? The tactic always worked for him in the past. The phony movies at the DNC were pathetic, but became the important, proverbial, last straw. Kerry has unwound his tall frame many many times to tell folks who have never seen a war zone not to question his service and it always backed them down. Those who have seen war zones always backed off too. But not anymore. Kerry's latest weapon is an avalanche of lawyers determined to attack the service of, and impugn the integrity of a large group of US Navy Officers and NCO's who voluntarily answered the call, served proudly, and never asked for any considerations for doing what they considered their duty. Unlike Kerry, they did not demand an early release from combat, and they did not request an early release from their voluntary service obligation. Also unlike Kerry, their goal is not to back anyone away from the discussion. Their simple goal is to finally let the truth prevail. This election process is messy, but it won't become bloody. The mess is going to get worse before it gets better, but none of the participants will bleed. We need this election to preserve our freedoms, but what we really need is a big dose of gratefullness. unclewest
