this type of narrow minded thinking must end
it is just so short sighted
sure, lower costs benefits
but keep in mind enormous income loss detriments

fine, garment industry gone
so is PC mfg an attendant peripherals
so is stereo equipmt and consumer electronics
so is house wares (which fill Wal-Mart)
so are cameras and photographics
tools are on the way out
large construction equipment is on the way out
cars are heading to Asian mfg each year
NAFTA cleaned out remnants of our mfg

do you see a trend, or are you blind?
the lower costs are an immediate benefit, with longterm pain
the lost income is huge
the potential for vendors to skim and use part of profits for R&D and new business investment is totally lost
gonzo

the denial is incredible on bigtime economic damage
at risk currently is the a major portion of service sector

AT WHAT POINT DO YOU RECOGNIZE THE PURSUIT OF LOWER COSTS HURTS US ???
INCOMES ARE GENERATED IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES, NOT HERE
INVESTMENT OCCURS ELSEWHERE
WE GET POORER, BUT WITH CHEAPER COSTS
MAYBE IN A FEW YEARS WHEN THE RECESSION HITS HARD
