I don't think Bush lied or trumped up a crisis in Iraq.
Either they had WOMD, were trying to get them or Bush received bad intelligence reports and bad information from the likes of Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Who ultimately had something to gain by ridding the area of Saddam.

Its amazing you can say the above after all the evidence to the contrary; that there were no WMD and that Bush trumped up the whole issue. I guess you need to tell yourself that BS so you won't feel guilty voting for him.

While it is possible that Bush himself could plead stupidity, Cheney and Rice and Wolfowitz and Perle and Rumsfeld all knew that the WDM alarm was a lie.

Bush is just a figurehead, and his name is used to refer to the administration.
