it used to normal practice at air ports when trying to leave to have the soldiers hold you up for money or values.

My friend spent several weeks there on an audit. He said going through customs to get out they tried to take his watch or said they wouldn't let him. They threaten to hold him on trumped up charge.. He was young and single knew about the scam and told them go ahead. A stewardess on his flight was in tears , they were really giving her a hard time. Scared the hell out of her. She told this guy after she would never take a flight back to nigeria , she would quit first.

Had another friend work over there for a couple of years. Nigeria was highest paid by company of all other countries for hazard extra pay bonus. They lived in protected area like Saudi. You would come across a dead body on the road and a week later it will still be there.

Doesn't sound like a fun place to visit. Of course i am going back twenty years.

He basically refused to go back.

Africa is a cesspool. Everybody knows it, and says so behind their hands. I was a headhunter in the 70's for about eight years. Lousy at it.
