A 50% drop in the dollar from where it is now would hurt Asian exports so badly that those countries are bound to resist letting that happen. I think that the likely outcome is inflation of all world fiat currencies, and that would mean a drastic rise in the prices of commodities. Demand pull for commodities from developing countries could drive prices up further.

In any case, I am hedging against this likelihood, and the best thing I have found so far is the PIMCO fund, PCRDX. I am not prepared to try to set up my own hedges with futures and options on futures, but I can let the professionals at PIMCO do this for me at a very modest management fee.
