Kerry is nuts on this. Two days ago he was saying he would get the troops reduced by the end of his first term. This is an opening to the terrorists. He is totally inconsistent in his approaches to Iraq.

Kerry : Significant Troop Reduction within First 6 Months
By Alan Brain

On NPR, Presidential candidate John F Kerry said the following : I believe that within a year from now we can significantly reduce American forces in IraqFrom the Washington Post : Knowing then what he knows today about the lack of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, Kerry still would have voted to authorize the war and “in all probability” would have launched a military attack to oust Hussein by now if he were president, Kerry national security adviser Jamie Rubin said in an interview Saturday. As recently as Friday, the Massachusetts senator had said he only “might” have still gone to war.Kerry and Rubin also are detailing a new Iraq policy to “significantly” reduce the number of U.S. troops in Iraq during the first six months of a Kerry administration. In an NPR interview Friday, Kerry said: “I believe that within a year from now, we could significantly reduce American forces in Iraq, and that’s my plan.” His comments took several aides by surprise. Al Jazeera is reporting this under the headline: Kerry promises to bring troops home...

Is the affidavit on the Swift Boat Vets for Truth site? Maybe "some" of us can email it around the world....And to the blogs.... If the major media, soon to be lesser media, won't print or talk about it, we now know that can change....

Kerry went to Nam and assembled a brilliant war record based on fraud. His contempararies never called him on it because it wasn't that noticeable and they were too busy. He came back and ran on it without going into details or being questioned for 30 plus years.

I don't recall Kerry's Nam tour ever coming up in any of his Senate campaigns, except as normal background filler. Massachusetts politics didn't require a 'war hero' Senator, and the campaigns were all about various domestic issues of local interest, as you would expect. I think this is the first campaign that Kerry has really tried to leverage the 'war hero' stuff, because it's the first where he really needs to shield himself against anti-war-McGovernite-dove accusations. Being called an anti-war-McGovernite-dove is not a charge that sticks in Massachusetts politics.
