Rarebird-If I remember right. The universal health care idea was soundly defeated when the Clintons brought up the matter. Remember, when Republicans took control of the Senate first term. IMO-In the US it's the quality of healthcare that matters to most.

However, the government protects the people through universal healthcare just the same way a nation's army does.

How can a "right" be something granted to one person based on an obligation of another person to provide it?

Incidentally, the current administration actually IS replacing an unprecedented amount of our military functionality with mercenaries. A reflection of their insanity, perhaps.
