I agree, IMHO his very minor wounds even under the BEST of circumstances belittle the medal for those that really deserved it, Hell I am STILL carrying shrapnel in me and I never even got nor asked for one. (reason being really superficial wounds and I was told the shrapnel would eventually work its way to the surface, which is does now and again MANY YEARS LATER haha.)
So far as his bronze and silver star, you can believe me or not believe me, but I assure you the little I have read of his exploits are no different than a TYPICAL DAY at the Zoo in Nam in a combat situation. We ALL did the type of thing I saw described at one time or another. In the military, one becomes VERY CLOSE to his buddies in HIS UNIT. We try never to let the other guy down. jdn
