stock symbol NGAS
NGAS resources apparently does a lot of partnering for its natural gas wells. take a look at their 10-k as how they structure the deals with private "high net worth" individuals....apparently they do it partly for tax write-offs...
let me know what you think...

In 2000 I tried rolling my short term profits into direct oil & gas investments. Did not work out well - delays in drilling cause me to miss windows of high NG prices,
I bought the wrong deals, etc.

Part of the problem is you are buying high on the cycle - high prices for drilling, higher promotes, etc.

ROYL was buying a farm out from BEXP and marking it up, you might be able to go directly to BEXP.

Also, check you state AMT tax - California has cute provision limiting OIL & GAS deductability to % of O&G profits.
