You raise a point which Condi Rice raised during her "Meet the Press" appearance this morning. I don't think anybody is suggesting he should have darted out from the room. If he did so then we all know that it would cause not only a sense of panic. HOwever, he could have been more Presidential and done what Kerry said he would do. I agree that it is easy to be a Monday night quarterback. But then seeing how Kerry was quick to think on his feet when he ordered his swiftboat turned around in the face of enemy fire and rescue his shipmate Mr. Rassmann, I feel confident that he is capable of and would do what he said he would do the other day.
