We can debate this issue to death. But the public in general smell a rat here. They have made up their minds that the intelligence was manipulated, that Bush and his men wanted very bad to get into Iraq etc. And they have reason to believe so.

The US first went to the Security Council for their vote. When Bush lost there, he said he had the authority to go to war from an earlier UN vote anyway and the Security Council vote did not matter. Now people wonder why did what he did which is seek the Security Council vote. Was he confused? BAck to the Pet Goat situation?

The Americans in the past, present and future do not expect their Govt. to act in the way that Bush has, like a wild raging bull. They believe in a world order where things are done by carrying everybody along. They know things work when they are done that way. Afghanistan was a good example.
