It's a cult mentality thing. You close off opposing views, allowing the leaders and the faithful to frenetically reinforce each others delusions without dissent.

Kool-Aid. The drink preferred by 8 of 10 liberals.

Perhaps the liberal threads will open their doors on Nov. 3, so we can all have a discussion about where the democrat's campaign went wrong and why Bush was reelected by a solid margin.

It's really rather funny.

They started out as threads to discuss the candidates
or to discuss a particular candidate. For a while
diverse or dissenting opinions were tolerated if
not actually welcomed.

Any last vestige of that disappeared, almost across
the board, with the DNC convention.

I find the timing particularly interesting.

The convention should have have evoked confidence,
instead it sparked paranoia among the rank and file.......
