I am willing to concede at this point, given recent polling, that so far the Swift boat event has hurt kerry rather than helped him at least in the short term. However, if all they have, is their hatered of post vietnam war kerry, and they are spinning events from 30 year old memories, I still say it wont work. The guys in the boat with kerry are honorable too and their axe to grind with kerry takes a distant second place to the fact that they respected this guy and attribute great things to him during battle. If they have real proof other than this he said/she said, he saw, she saw stuff then i will reconsider but i think they do not. If they want to influence the election run ads showing kerrys testimony post war. I remember seeing those hearings live when i was a young man and kerry influenced me as i believed him. Mike
PS I WONT ARGUE THE FOLLOWING POINT--ITS JUST A THOUGHT I HAVE HAD AT TIMES.
The folks that helped end that war earlier rather than any later, given the horrible outcome which now seems to have been inevitable may have saved many lives. It doesnt justify kerry lies or fonda posturing but.....i will always wonder if we would still be fighting the damn thing if it werent for the activists, however naive and misguided they were.
