ShiftyVets will only convince those who already hate Kerry, don't know why and are looking for some bogus excuse. Anyone with a brain can see right throguh these guys. I don't consider them a danger anymore, but they could incite some Timothy McVeigh types to try something. They represent the dark underside of rightwing American politics. Many of these types would prefer a right wing totalitarian military state. So long as they're on top of course. Hey, sounds a lot like Saddam's Iraq.
