Let me add my congratulations, and comment on your wisdom in living so close to your in-laws. This means they can take care of Erita while you and your wife get some sleep- important during those first months. I've often seen new fathers with a very glazed over look from lack of sleep.

Jay at just under 6 months my daughter was in the water... LOL I recall we played a form of ping pong with her between my wife and I passing her back and forth under water :O)

At 3 she easily swam the big pool. Lifeguards got a real kick out of her. Of course we would not at that age leave her in the deep alone but she was a good swimmer even then although not big on style LOL... It's good together time... and a great instiller of confidence...
