No one is disparaging Bush's National Guard service. All we want is someone to come forward and say they saw him performing his duties in Alabama.

What's so hard about that?

You're right about one thing: The dedicated guardsmen who showed up for drills every other weekend and spent two weeks every summer training are indeed "pissed off".

Bush lied on Meet The Press about showing up in Alabama. The fact is, $15,000 in rewards are there for anyone who saw Bush report in 1972. No takers so far. awolbush.com

I lived through the Vietnam War and friends of mine that were males would have given their right arms for a stint in the National Guard. It was very hard to get picked for the guard and it was only a pipedream for most.

The truth is that the Guard was far less life-threatening than going to Vietnam where a mere snake bite could give you a life expectancy of 2 minutes.

Men who went into the Guard in the Vietnam era were VERY lucky or privileged. That is not to disparage their service but it was a FAR cry from serving in Vietnam where your daytime barber co8uld be caught sneaking into the compound at night in order to blow it and you to smithereens.

No Guard members I know are mad at Kerry......they know how lucky they were to avoid standing on Vietnam soil........they are wondering how Bush managed to be absent for so long without repercussions.
