I am not absolutely positive who is lying...

Absolutely? Nor I, but based on the statements and tactics of both sides of the argument, it appears that SwiftVets is presenting a stronger case. Consider:

today's WSJ guest editorial from Jim Rassmann - online.wsj.com

compared to the letter SwiftVets sent to TV station managers providing documentation and background for the statements made in their ad "Any Question?" - swiftvets.com

Also, I didn't realize until today that the Boston Globe "news" article claiming that Elliot had recanted his comments from the ad was actually written by one of Kerry's official biographers.

So far, SwiftVets seems to going to great lengths to make a case supported by solid evidence, including eyewitness accounts, official Navy documentation and Kerry's and his biographers' own statements. The other side, OTOH, is simply trying to smear and dismiss the SwiftVets, including by the disingenuous claim that none of them "served" with Kerry because they were not part of the crew on his boat, rather than directly refuting any of the evidence they have presented.

Furthermore, their attempts to silence SwiftVets by threatening TV stations who sell them ad time only exposes their lack of any real substantive defense against the charges SwiftVets has made and their desperation to shut them up (not to mention a blatant, but now all too common, double standard not evident on the other side).

JMO,
Bob

PS: I would add that the Boston Globe should be ashamed of itself for printing as news an article by Kerry's official biographer attacking SwiftVets. They didn't even print a disclosure with the article of the author's connection to Kerry and conflict of interest. Yes, "journalistic integrity" does seem to be an oxymoron.
