Lol. Since when is the accounting and finance profession, and accounting standards board doing their job with respect to implementing fair accounting standards and fair financial statements, "running the US"? And neither the accounting profession, nor the finance profession, nor the independent financial accounting standards board charged with designing and implementing fair accounting standards should have any say in standards for financial reporting? Don't be ridiculous Lizzie. I suppose you think Tom Siebel should be in charge of designing financial statements and standards, which come to think of it, is kind of what we have. Yes, lets put the foxes in charge of the hen house and let them design accounting statements. I am sure the fact that the indefensible reporting on the stock option issue has been the primary enabler of Tom's billion dollar retirement won't influence Tom's viewpoint on this issue at all. He is sure to be fair and balanced. What a hoot!!

Lizzie, RE: Since when does the accounting profession determine the best course of action for the US?

Seems to me that the accounting profession is best able to determine the course of accounting in the US. A bunch of lawyers in Congress are trying to prevent them. Who do you think would be better qualified?

Should software programmers write code for your company or should marketing MBAs?
