This will sound dumb Don. But i will put it out there anyway. CSCO beats eps and revenue. If they had matched the numbers, rather than beat they (csco) would be projecting 3-5% for next quarter over the lower prior revenue number (not 0-2). Bet this stupid market would have liked that better although over 6 month period it would be exactly the same. So maybe companies should hold back sales because the analytsts dont understand business. I know i am missing something but when i see a 14 million dollar projected shortfall on 6 billion + in sales causes an 8% drop from the close and i own the stock in question i must be stupid to begin with. Mike

Actually, I forgot to make note of one item in the previous post.

Message 20398260

<<For the full year, Cisco earned $4.4 billion, or 62 cents a share, on sales of $22 billion. During 2003, Cisco earned $3.6 billion, or 50 cents a share, on sales of $18.9 billion.>>

Let's see, last year earnings were 19 percent of sales and this years earnings were 20 percent of sales. They only earned 8B in the last 2 years on sales of 40.9B. My, my, they certainly need to do better. Look at all the other companies out there of that size that are doing better. Hardly worth a second look!:)
