Colin Powell is not attending the Republican convention
That makes sense to me. He's been rode hard and put up wet by Cheney/Bush/Rumsfeld. I don't see him sticking around another Bush term. I do see him in a Kerry/Edwards administration though.

Powell doesn't have much of a chance to be a player in the dem party. To do that he would have to speak out against Bush prior to the election, and that ain't gonna happen.

Truer words were never spoken, indeed I don't want John Edwards to be successful on Nov 2. In fact once Edwards realizes how credible the 60 SwiftVets are, he will regret he ever joined Kerry's ticket. My country's best interest right now is more important to me than any politician.
Besides, Dems would choose Edwards as their candidate anyday over a one-state Senator like Hillary. Of course, I gave Dems credit for choosing a worthwhile candidate in Iowa and was sorely disappointed. Still am outraged that the Dems had a perfect opportunity and somehow zeroed in on a waffling blowhard named John Kerry.
